Cryne Could Step Down!!

Barnsley owner Patrick Cryne has confirmed every fans worst fear by saying he is ready to stand down from the Oakwell boardroom… and has been at the end of every season since he's been there, claming he is "extraordinarily unhappy"

Cryne took over the club back in the spring of 2005 and installed Gordon Shepherd as chairman. Shepherd stood down from this role at the end of last season and now Cryne has complete control of the club.

It has often been rumoured that the Isoft owner has never been comfortable at the club and only took over from Peter Ridsdale because the books were in such a mess . He almost confirmed this to BBC Radio Sheffield when he said:

"There hasn't been a season without me wanting to say 'enough', the pressure is just too great.

"I'm extraordinarily unhappy in the role that I occupy within the club.

"The only reason I hold that role is because nobody else wants to pick up the baton."

"These years in the position of owner have been the most miserable despite the fact we've had a promotion and been to Wembley,"

"If there's someone there who wants to take the responsibility then I'm happy to sit back."
