Davey Out?

Last updated : 01 October 2008 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

Barnsley fans have turned on manager Simon Davey tonight after a horrible 3-0 defeat at Ipswich Town saw Barnsley suffer their heaviest defeat of the season and the club's sixth reversal out of the first nine games.

Here are some of the comments on various forums and messageboards tonight.

On the TykesMad messageboard:

goliwog says:

I didnt think he was the man for the job when he was taken on as a cheap option I wasnt convinced when everybody was geting carried away during the cup run
The man must go now no more games to get it right
The longer he stays the harder its going to be for the next manager to put right The man who scored the first goal against us Stead should have been playing for us But i dont think hes Daveys type of player he prefers to pick a player from over seas that hes only seen on a dodgy video.

Where is my teddy!!!! He's got to go - anybody want any messages passing on to Davey please list as I will be sat behind him on Saturday. E-Bay advert - one useless Welsh person for sale - will swap for a plastic dinosaur and two marbles

tykesmad says:

"We definitely deserved something from that game. We dominated the first half and created lots of chances. It says a lot when Richard Wright has come off as man of the match."

Muppet !

Davey needs to go before it is too late
he has made no loan signings in the market which we need a good proven striker
scared to drop player like moore get rid
if he doesnt go well go down its for a fact playing good and not winning is not good form it is relegation form
DAVEY OUT DAVEY OUT DAVEY OUT!

Illkeytyke says:

On the Davey front, like him or loathe him, the chickens are coming home to roost. If you pack your team with players who haven't scored a lot of goals in the past, why expect them suddenly to change - it simply doesn't happen.
As I've said, managerial chickens are coming home to roost and the club are suffering for making a rather naive managerial appointment when they asked SD to step up to the plate.

Muller's entitled to have a bad game here or there (its his first bad game in 18 months that I can recall). Davey out.
