Barnsley have pulled off a fine move into the domestic transfer market on loan deadline day by signing Norwich City striker Jamie Cureton on a three month loan deal.

Cureton, now 33, has found first team opportunities hard to come by at Norwich this season and the man who found the net in Norwich's 1-0 win over the Reds last seaosn has joined on an emergency loan.

Cureton was signed by Norwich for £825,000 after a fine season in the Championship with Colchester in which he scored 24 goals, in addition to that, he was the Canaries top scorer last season with 14 goals. Altogether he has bagged 199 goals in 544 league appearances.

He is expected to go straight into Saturday's squad to play Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile. Reds winger Martin Devaney has been ruled out for two months with an ankle injury. Devaney went off 10 minutes into the 3-2 win over Burnley after twisting his ankle after blocking a shot by Chris Eagles.
