Doncaster manager Rob Jones said:

“In the second half, we were much more positive. We gave away a sloppy goal, but we reacted from that and I thought for the last half an hour, we were magnificent and I thought we controlled it.

“We played the vast majority of the last half an hour in their half and got two great goals, with a first Football League goal for Keshi (Anderson) which was terrific and he took it very, very well and then we got the penalty and it was a great finish by Willo (Andy Williams).

“Dany N’Guessan could have made it three and it would have been game over.

“They were hanging on at the end and the disappointing side of it is that we were done by a set-piece and we are normally big and strong and resilient at set-pieces.

“There were some disappointing faces in the dressing room, as you’d expect. But football does that to you sometimes.

Interesting Stats:

Barnsley won each of their first three trips to the Keepmoat Stadium but have failed to win any of the subsequent three, losing two.

Harry Forrester’s late winner in the last meeting between the two sides back in January was Doncaster’s 100th strike against Barnsley. The Reds need another three to reach a ton against Rovers.

Barnsley who are four short of their century against Doncaster have managed just three goals in the last three meetings, and have drawn blanks in three of the last five.

Barnsley have last each of their last five games at Doncaster in the third tier.

There have been four post 84th minute goals in the last seven meetings.

There have been eight red cards in the last 17 meetings between the two sides.

Barnsley’s new full back Reece Wabara was in the Doncaster side for both clashes with Barnsley last season.

Both clubs have replaced their manager since the last game, nine months ago.
