Dont Live A Little.... Live A Lotto

Barnsley have announced a deal with Sportwear giants Lotto to make the Reds kit for the 2008-2009 season.

Lotto supply the kit for Fiorentina, Palermo, Udinese and ChievoV in Italy; Borussia Mönchengladbach and Mainz in Germany; Real Zaragoza in Spain, Sochaux and Toulouse in France; NEC Nijmegen in Holland, the Pumas of Mexico City, as well as the Ukrainian and Colombian international sides. They also have exclusive deals with international superstars Luca Toni, Cafu and Clarence Seedorf. And now Barnsley's name will be added to that illustrious list.

It is to be hoped their shirts will be of a higher standard than this season's supplier Surridge. A lot of shirts were falling to pieces by Christmas with the sponsor's name peeling off.

Meanwhile, talking of Sponsors, the club's main club sponsor will change for 2008-2009 as we welcome Barnsley Building Society back to the club. The BBS was the club's main sponsor for the promotion season of 2005-2006 and the 2006-2007 Championship season before being replaced by Wake Smith Solicitors for 2007-2008.

Barnsley FC General Manager Don Rowing told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"We intend to take massive strides forward as a Club both on and off the pitch and the future is very bright here at Oakwell.

"We are delighted that Barnsley Building Society have signed up to join our journey and pleased that they recognise the vision we have for this Club and the direction we are heading.

"We want to bring this town together and unite the families of Barnsley behind their football club. We are very happy that Barnsley Building Society have shown their support and given their backing to our mission".

Whilst the BBS Chief Executive David Roebuck said:

"The Society is very pleased that our logo will be returning to the front of the Club's shirts in our role as Main Club Sponsor.

"As Barnsley's Building Society, we have a vested interest in the town and its community and hope that the coming seasons will hold the level of success and excitement that we've seen over this.

"Amongst other things, we will be working with the Club on initiatives that will be of interest to both adult and junior supporters as well as holders of the Club's exclusive supporters savings affinity account, Reds Saver".

Two new signings for 08-09!
