Paul Gibbs has returned to training and could make a surprise return on Saturday.

The left-back has had a groin operation but is in the squad possibly due to the injury to Dave Mulligan's ankle which means the New Zealander will almost certainly miss the trip to Home Park.

Central Defender Lee Crooks has already been ruled out with a calf problem he sustained in the match against Huddersfield.

Midfielder Chris Lumsdon is also struggling to recover from an calf injury sustained in a reserve match against Oldham on Tuesday and is described as extremely doubtful. A precautionary x-ray did fortunately reveal no fracture.

Reds leading scorer Bruce Dyer trained this morning and should be fit to play after shaking off an ankle injury.
