Ellis Thinks Issue Is Closed

Sheffield United Assistant Manager Sam Ellis has risked further infuriating Barnsley by claiming that the Chris Morgan/Iain Hume issue is now closed after the Football Association decided it would take no further action against Morgan for the elbow challenge that left Hume with a fractured skull.

The FA ludicrously revealed yesterday that the only punishment Morgan will receive is the yellow card he received from referee Andy D'Urso during the game. Ellis- formerly assistant under Blades manager Kevin Blackwell at Leeds United told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"We didn't think there was anything more; we think people have made a little bit more of it than they should have. It was closed after the game."

That though appears far from the case as The Reds indicated in their statement reacting to the FA's decision that they would now take things "outside of the normal football processes" which suggests legal action against either Sheffield United or Morgan himself.

The fact Ellis can think people have made more of it than they should have when you consider somebody was left in a life-thretening decision shows how backwards the 61 year old is.
