End Of Season Awards Announced

Jason Shackell has been named as the Barnsley FC Player of the Year in the club's end of season awards.

The 27-year-old, signed from Wolves in pre-season and took the captains armband has made 45 appearances for the Reds in all competitions and scored three goals.

The Players Player of the Year award went to Nathan Doyle, who has come on leaps and bounds this season, making 44 appearances and scoring twice.

Young Player of the Season went to Kieran Trippier. The 20-year-old on loan from Manchester City has impressed in his 40 appearances for the Reds this season, scoring two important free-kicks against Leeds and Doncaster.

The Academy Player of the Year was Danny Rose, the 17-year-old has made two appearances for the first team since signing professional terms in January.

The Goal of the Season award went to Jacob Butterfield for his wonder strike in the 4-2 win over Bristol City last month.
