England Women coming to Oakwell - Reminder!

England's women are playing a tough friendly against Norway on 6th May (kick off 7.45pm) in preperation for the 2005 UEFA European Women's Championship.

England National Coach Hope Powell OBE said: "This game will be part our final stage of preparations as WOMEN'S EURO 2005 will be less than a month away.

"Norway are a very good team and the game will be a real test for us. This will be one of the last chances the players have to secure their place in the final tournament squad of 20 players. I know they will all be working very hard in this game and I'm sure the fans will see a fantastic match at Oakwell."

Doncaster Rovers Belles' star, Vicky Exley, added: "This is almost a home game for me and I'm hoping I'll get the chance to play in front of a Yorkshire crowd. Games like these are really important for the team as we prepare for WOMEN'S EURO 2005 and having a big the crowd behind us makes a massive difference so I hope that football fans from across Yorkshire will come along and cheer us on."

Barnsley FC general manager, Don Rowing, told the official Barnsley FC website: "We are delighted that international football is coming back to Oakwell and I hope that Barnsley fans will embrace this game and get behind the England team as they prepare for WOMEN'S EURO 2005.

"Women's football is the top female sport in the country and this game gives fans the chance to see the country's top players in action, I hope both teams enjoy playing at Oakwell."

Tickets for the match are on sale now priced at £3 for adults/£1concessions in advance and £5/£2 on match day.
