FA Cup Third Round Draw!!!!!

Last updated : 02 December 2007 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

Barnsley were just ONE ball away from a dream home tie with FA Cup holders Chelsea but will settle for a repeat of the result when they hosted Blackpool back on Bonfire Night.

The Reds were pulled out right near the end and were handed Blackpool, with Chelsea being the next ball out.

Barnsley can look at the fact that Blackpool have failed to win at Oakwell in the last 4 meetings, including The Reds 2-1 success in the league back on 5th November but the last time the two sides met at Oakwell in the FA Cup it turned into a bit of a horror show with Blackpool easing to a 4-1 romp back in 2003. The two sides have met five times in the FA Cup, with four of the ties being played at Oakwell, Blackpool have ominously won the last three, but the one Barnsley won, they did so 6-0!

Simon Davey told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"In any cup competition a home draw is the best one to have.

"We have drawn a team from our division who we are familiar with. The FA Cup is always special and it is a game we will look forward to".
