Barnsley yesterday completed the signing of Slovenian international defender Suad Filekovic on a free transfer.

Filekovic, 31, has won 14 caps for Slovenia and has been on trial at Oakwell for the last week.

The 6ft 3in defender has signed a short term contract until January and brings vast experience from NK Olimpija Ljubljana and NK Maribor in Slovenia, NK Hajduk Split, Ergotelis FC in Greece, R.E. Mouscron in Belgium and FC Krylia Sovetov Samara in Russia.

There has been another departure at the club as new manager Mark Robins continues to make his mark.

Development coach Stuart Gibson- who was only appointed by ex boss Simon Davey to run the new development squad has left Oakwell.

Davey decided to scrap the reserve side and create a development squad which would play arranged games behind closed doors. The official websites reports that "DUE to the re-organisation of the coaching set up at Oakwell following the appointment of Mark Robins and his team, Barnsley FC can confirm that Stuart Gibson has left the club." It remains to be seen what future, if any the development squad has.
