Forest After Stan....

Barnsley cult hero Istvan Ferenczi has revealed that he is NOT officially transfer-listed at Oakwell but that the club just want to lower his wages.

Ferenczi does though admits that the club will listen to offers for the striker who has scored 12 goals in 58 appearances for The Reds but he wants to remain at Oakwell.

He told the Hungarian newspaper Pepsifoci:

"Telling you the truth the club wants to modify my contract and I'd earn less than before as they're unable to pay my full wages,"

"I do like my present team and would like to stay, though I was told if a suitable offer comes in then the club would release me as this is the last time when they can get money for me."

Championship new-boys Nottingham Forest have followed up their £2.5m signing of Robert Earnshaw by making tentative enquires about Ferenczi who became a fan favourite in England by scoring six goals in his first eight games. And according to the 30 year old, there is also interest from Sweden.

"I have had an approach from Sweden and Nottingham are also interested and if it's up to me then I'd choose Championship new-boys Forest.

"I like the English football style and Nottingham is close to here [Barnsley] so a move wouldn't be that difficult. But the most ideal thing [for me] would be to stay here."

We hope you do stay Stan, we really do!
