Barnsley have ended their interest in signing Oldham Athletic striker Jonathan Forte due to concerns over his knee.
The 29-year-old former Sheffield United, Doncaster and Rotherham marksman missed the final two months of the 2014-2015 campaign after suffering an injury to his knee at the start of April.
The Reds had hoped to sign the Latics 15 goal top scorer but after a medical showed persistent damage, they have opted out.
