The 28-year-old is expected to return to the first team sooner than anticipated with Reds physio Matt Konopinski delivering the news:
"Stephen will have an operation on his groin on Thursday. We are hopeful that he will be back in action in a fortnight"
Foster has been a virtual ever present for the Reds this term, playing in 26 of the 28 games so far this campaign.
