Friendly Result: York City 2-2 Barnsley

A brace from Jon Macken earned Barnsley a well fought 2-2 draw at the Kit Kat Crescent with York City last night.

Fitness doubts Brian Howard and Rob Kozluk both started and came through 90 minutes without any strife. A un-named German trialist again being masked by the name Smith started up front with Macken and an unknown player named 'Hunt' was on the bench.

The Reds were in front after 23 minutes when Jacob Butterfield sent El Haimour down the left and his low cross was converted by Jon Macken.

El Haimour was close to doubling the lead just before half-time but his shot came down off the bar.

Odejayi missed a one-on-one before York equalised with 15 minutes left. A mix up between Stephen Foster and Kyle Letheren gifted Craig Farrell a goal.

He then put York in front with 5 minutes left with an unstoppable shot that Letheren could do nothing about.

The Reds brought the score back to 2-2 with a minute remaining when sub keeper Mimms dropped the ball under pressure and Macken was on hand to bundle in the equaliser.

Reds Team: Letheren, Hassell, Foster, Moore (Atkinson 74), Kozluk, Leon (Heslop 78), Butterfield (Odejayi 45), Howard, El Haimour, Macken, Smith.
