Former Reds star Geoff Thomas has undergone a life-saving transplant operation - after his sister Kay provided the bone marrow match.
The surgery was today reported to have been completed without any complications.
Thomas's health scare emerged last summer after he was diagnosed with cancer.
Thomas made his name at Crewe before playing for Crystal Palace, Wolves, Nottm Forest and Barnsley, winning nine England caps under Graham Taylor.
