Goodbye Granty

Reds midfielder Grant McCann has signed for Championship rivals Scunthorpe United for an undisclosed fee.

The Reds had turned down a £100,000 bid from the Iron for McCann but boss Nigel Adkins came back with a better offer and McCann has made the switch to Lincolnshire.

McCann has been known for his striking of the ball, two spectacular free-kicks at Southampton and a cracking strike at Scunthorpe on New Years Day. He opened his Reds account on his and Simon Davey's debut against Ipswich at Oakwell in November 2006 when he was on loan.

He made the permanent switch in January 2007 for £100,000 so we have made a profit on him. Overall for the Reds, Grant made 39 appearances and scored four goals.
