Healy To FINALLY Sign

Republic of Ireland midfielder Colin Healy is finally set to sign on a free transfer for The Reds.

Healy was expected to sign last week but delays have meant he won't sign until tomorrow and has missed The Reds first 2 games of the season.

Ritchie has admitted Healy who will sign a one-year contract, faces a fight to get into the Reds midfield after two excellent displays from Brian Howard and Sam Togwell.

He told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"Colin will sign for us on Thursday and we are all delighted to have him here. He is a quality player and he will be available for Colchester.

"Colin only wanted a one-year contract and that really suits everybody concerned. We are quite happy with that and will have a quality addition to our squad.

"Having said that and on the two games so far I think he might struggle to get into our midfield. Colin told me after the Cardiff game that he will have to be at his best to dislodge Sam and Brian but that sort of competition is what we need".
