Heinz Injury Not As Bad As Feared

Reds German stopper Heinz Muller could be back for the start of the 2008-2009 season after surgery revealed he had not ruptured his lateral meniscus as first thought.

Barnsley Physio Richard Kay told the Oakwell Review:

"Heinz MRI appeared to show damage to his lateral meniscus but this was not the case when the surgeon operated. His MRI scan showed a far more serious injury than the surgeon actually found when he went in and cleared away the blood."

This also gives hope that Anderson De Silva's injury may not bad as bad either. It was feared Anderson had suffered the same sort of injury to Muller but Kay continued:

"Anderson has had an MRI scan which appears to show a ruptured cruciate ligament but nothing is 100 per cent until we can go in."
