Young Reds defender/midfielder Simon Heslop has joined Blue Square Premier promotion chasers Kettering on a month's loan to gain more first team experience.

Heslop, 22, played the full 90 minutes and was booked in
Kettering's 1-1 draw with Stevenage which leaves them third in the table.

Heslop who has come through the
Oakwell Academy has enjoyed temporary stints at Kidderminster Harriers, Tamworth, Northwich Victoria, Halifax and Grimsby Town, clocking up more than 100 senior appearances, but has appeared just once for The Reds, coming on as a sub in the 7-0 thrashing at West Brom on the final day of the 2006-2007 season.
