Hibs Game Off!!

Barnsley’s pre-season plans have been hampered after their scheduled first friendly of the summer was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.

Keith Hill’s new look Reds were supposed to take on Scottish Premier League side Hibernian in a 3pm kick-off but the match was called off after heavy rain in Edinburgh left Hibs Easter Road pitch waterlogged. Incredibly though the referee waited until only 45 minutes before kick-off to make his announcement, leading to anger and frustration for the army of Reds fans who had made the four and half hour trip across the border.

Hill, along with his new recruits David Perkins, Craig Davies, James McNulty, Matty Done, Scott Wiseman, Miles Addison and Rob Edwards will all have to wait until Tuesday night to get their first taste of action when they make the trip up to Victoria Park to face League One Hartlepool, who are currently managed by Barnsley born Mick Wadsworth.
