Hill Sacked As Reds Boss

Barnsley have sacked Keith Hill as manager after the Reds slumped to the bottom of the Championship after a 3-1 defeat at home to Blackburn.

Hill has overseen a season and a half at the helm at Oakwell and made an impressive start to the 2011/12 campaign, when the Reds sat in 8th in December last year. But since the turn of the year, the Reds have won only eight matches.

And today's defeat was the final straw for the board at Oakwell and they have relieved Hill of his duties.

A club statement reads:

Barnsley Football Club have parted company with first-team Manager Keith Hill following today's defeat to Blackburn Rovers.

Reds Assistant Manager Dave Flitcroft has been asked to take charge of first-team affairs for the match at Peterborough United.

Another statement will be made in the near future.

Keith Hill was in charge for 75 games but won only 19, and just one of his final 14.
