Howard who has been in fantastic form and is a strong runner for Player of the Year has been linked with a January switch to Keane's promotion chasers as his contract runs out in June.
Howard though says he wants to sign a new deal:
"The gaffer has told me his wants me to stay; the Chairman has told me he wants me to stay here and I am more than happy here. I have heard all the rumours that I will be off this month; I am not happy here and that my house is up for sale.
"My house isn't up for sale, I am quite happy here and I want to stay. We are still in the early part of the discussions but I am quite confident that things will be sorted soon".
