Hume Ready To Return!

Last updated : 12 June 2009 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

Barnsley striker Iain Hume is ready to put eight months of hell behind him by being fit for the start of the 2009-2010 Championship campaign.

Hume has been out of action since the 8th of November when a sickening elbow from Sheffield United's Chris Morgan left the £1.2m man with a fractured skull.

Hume has spent the time since having surgery and recuperating but is ready to take part in pre-season training with a clear focus on being ready for the first game of the new season.

Hume told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"As soon as a pre-season starts I'm back in my eyes and hopefully in the gaffers! There's no point me doing pre-season if I am not to be involved in the first game of the season."

Meanwhile the new home shirt for the 2009-2010 season is available to buy from today.
