It was a fairly quiet Friday night for Barnsley's international contingent as only one of the three on duty managed to get on the pitch.

The enigma which is Stevie Mallan as bizarrely he is yet to appear for The Reds first team despite impressing for Paul Harsley's Under 23s played the full 90 minutes for Scotland Under21s 1-1 draw with Latvia in their Euro Under 21 qualifying match.

The young Scots had trailed to Roberts Uldrikis effort in the SIXTH minute of first half stoppage time but managed to rescue a point thanks to a 93rd minute penalty by Ryan Hardie.

Mallan had one sight of the goal in the game, shooting wide from 20 yards. The result leaves the Scots third in Group D with seven points from four games (England are top with 13 points) and are next in action on Tuesday against Ukraine who are one place and two points below them.

Elsewhere in Paris, both Tom Bradshaw and Ryan Hedges were unused substitutes for the Welsh senior team as they lost 2-0 to France.
