It's a Gray Day For Davey

Barnsley boss Simon Davey has admitted his frustration in completing the signing of Charlton Athletic striker Andy Gray.

A fee- believed to be around £600,000- and personal terms have been agreed for the past three weeks but getting the signing sealed in time for Saturday's curtain-raiser at Sheffield Wednesday is proving troubling.

Davey told BBC Radio Sheffield:

The frustrating thing is we are on other people's time scales," "I have to decide whether to persevere with it or go elsewhere."

Meanwhile trialist O'Neil Thompson- who impressed in his debut against Manchester City at the weekend will get the rest of the week to prove he is worth a permanent deal.
