Its A Sell Out!!!!

Last updated : 03 March 2008 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

Oakwell Stadium is set for its first sell-out since the capacity was raised to 23,009 with the building of the 6,000 North Stand in 1999 after the club confirmed it had SOLD OUT its entire allocation for home fans.

With Chelsea taking all the North Stand, around 17,000 tickets were made available to Barnsley fans at the close of business on Saturday 1st March, season ticket holders had snapped up 15,600 leaving 1400 for non season ticket holders when they went on general sale today.

Those were snapped up within hours and Oakwell is set to be packed for the first time since the Premier League season of 1997-1998.

The current highest attendance since 1999 is 22,650 for the game between Barnsley and Manchester City in Division One on the 11th March 2000 when The Reds won 2-1 thanks to goals from John Curtis and Craig Hignett.

A similar result on Saturday would be great!

Can't buy a seat in the house!
