Its Finally K.O for KO

Striker Kayode Odejayi has finally seen his Oakwell hell ended, after agreeing to link up with FOUR ex-Reds at League One promotion chasers Scunthorpe.

Odejayi, 27, has suffered some serious highs and lows in his one and a half year stay in South Yorkshire, since arriving from Cheltenham for £200,000 in the summer of 2007.

The Nigerian International has managed just five goals in 72 appearances and has missed sitters at Wembley, and against Burnley and Southampton, which have led to ridicule from fans. On the other side of the coin, he scored the goal that famously knocked Chelsea out of the FA Cup and scored superb strikes against Scunthorpe and Watford- the goal against the Iron, his first for Barnsley, saw him run half the length of the field and may have been one of the reasons manager Nigel Adkins has come in for him.

Odejayi has managed just one of his five goals this season however, the consolation in a 2-1 home defeat to Sheffield United and has been left out of the squad for the past two matches, with the arrival of Michael Mifsud, and other strikers such as Daniel Bogdanovic and Jon Macken ahead of him in the pecking order.

Odejayi will move to Glanford Park for a month, and will link up with Paul Hayes, Grant McCann and Sam Togwell, who have all treaded the path from South Yorkshire to North Lincolnshire.

Meanwhile captain Stephen Foster is a doubt for Saturday's game against Queens Park Rangers at Oakwell. Foster has only just returned to the side, after missing three games due to a hernia operation, and he has helped The Reds to two successive clean sheets since his return. But the 28 year old has missed training all week and boss Simon Davey told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"Stephen has had a slight problem this week with a build up of fluid in his groin known as a seroma following surgery last month and two matches in a week.

"He had that fluid drained away yesterday and we will have to monitor him before the weekend although it is too early to rule him out and we are hopeful that his body will respond to treatment and he will be available for QPR".

The club have moved swiftly to rubbish reports that Foster is set to miss the rest of the season.
