Reds boss Mark Robins has made his fifth signing of the summer with the free transfer capture of left back Jay McEveley.

The 24 year old who has been capped three times by Scotland has put pen to paper on a two year deal at Oakwell after his release from fellow Championship side Derby County. McEveley made 36 appearances for the Rams last season and played the full 90 minutes when Barnsley and Derby drew 0-0 back in April.

Meanwhile the first Barnsley match to be shown live on SKY next season has been chosen. The Reds battle with newly relegated Hull City at Oakwell on Saturday 30th October will be shown live with a new 5.20pm kick off.

This is the FOURTH time in three years that Barnsley and Hull will have clashed in front of the SKY cameras. In February 2007 a brace from Istvan Ferenczi and a strike from fellow Hungarian Peter Rajczi sealed a fantastic 3-0 win, whilst in the 2007-2008 season both games with the Tigers were live on Sky, but The Reds were thumped 3-0 at the KC Stadium and 3-1 at Oakwell.
