"John Smith" Leaves The Club

Last updated : 24 July 2008 By Alastair Limb (tykesmad)
The Reds will continue the search for a new striker with the German trialist, now being revealed as former Derby and Crystal Palace striker Marco Reich leaving the club following a trial.

This, coupled with the news of Istvan Ferenczi leaving the club for Ferencváros surely gives Barnsley boss Simon Davey the scope he needs to go out and sign a new striker.

The only fit strikers on the club's books at the moment are Jon Macken, Iain Hume and Kayode Odejayi, with Miguel Mostto still to return from his homeland of Peru and Michael Coulson out long term.

Reich, who is now 30 and plays for German Second Division side Offenbach Kickers has been turned away after his 90 minutes at York.
