Reds goalkeeper Heinz Muller has targeted a July return to training following surgery on a knee ligament injury picked up against Colchester in January.

The giant German keeper clashed with U's striker Clive Platt and and picked up an awful injury to the lateral meniscus. He originally ruled himself out for six months but the scan said he would be missing for six to nine months.

Muller, who cost £200,000 from Norweigan side Lillestrom has been bargain of the century, after several outstanding performances earned him Premiership interest. He was allegedly about to complete a move to Fulham when he picked up the injury.

Reports in the media have since linked him with Chelsea, Arsenal and Celtic.
