Reds utility player Antony Kay (21) has signed a new one year contract with the club.

Reds chairman Peter Ridsdale said: "We're delighted that Antony's future is secure. I don't think anybody could have doubted Antony's commitment to the cause.

"His versatility has been a real boost to us, especially when we have endured spells where key players have been injured.

"Like Neil Austin he's a Barnsley boy born and bred and it's good to see them leading a clutch of homegrown youngsters into the first team squad."

This leaves just Jacob Burns of the three offered new deals left to sign up.
