Kayode and Brian Up For Award

Oakwell heroes Brian Howard and Kayode Odejayi are competing to join goalkeeper Luke Steele for a VIP place at Wembley for the FA Cup Final after they were both nominated for the Player of the Round award for their extraordinary efforts in the 1-0 victory over Chelsea at the weekend.

Steele won the award for the Fifth Round after his excellent display in keeping Liverpool at bay in The Reds 2-1 win at Anfield and Odejayi and Howard go up against West Brom's Ishmael Miller who grabbed a hat-trick in West Brom's 5-1 victory at Bristol Rovers, Cardiff's Peter Whittingham who scored the opening goal in their 2-0 win at Middlesborough and Portsmouth's Glen Johnson who kept Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo quiet in Pompey's 1-0 win at Manchester United. Barnsley are the only side with two nominated players.

As of 1.25pm on Tuesday 11th March 2008 the results were:

Kayode Odejayi: 61.90%

Ishmael Miller: 17.85%

Glen Johnson: 9.52%

Brian Howard: 8.33%

Peter Whittingham: 2.38%

Voting closes at 9am on Tuesday 18th March 2008 and the winner will receive VIP hospitality for themselves and their guest at The FA Cup Final on Saturday 17 May 2008.



The winner of each award will be presented with a trophyalong with a kit bag of training equipment which he can donate to a local school of his choice.
