Grimsby boss Nicky Law is hoping to sign Reds striker Isaiah Rankin on a free transfer before Thursday's transfer deadline.

Izzy is available on a free transfer, more so after his celebrations in front of the Barnsley fans following his goal in the 6-1 victory at Blundell Park.

The former Arsenal youth was doing well for the Mariners with a couple of goals and habit of winning penalties.

Rankin currently has an ankle injury and any deal will only be until the end of the season, with the Mariners board refusing to sign anyone on longer term contracts until the club knows what division they will be playing in.
