Lloyd Is The Man

Barnsley have today made yet another young loan signing by capturing Lloyd Isgrove from Southampton.

The 22 year old takes The Reds loan contingent back up to the maximum allowed number of six following Joe Rothwell’s return to Manchester United but it is believed Isgrove’s signing (until the 3rd January) is to compensate for when Kadeem Harris returns to Cardiff at the end of his 93 day loan on the 21st November.

Isgrove who came through the famous Southampton academy and has made six appearances for the club is no stranger to South Yorkshire after spending an eight game spell at Sheffield Wednesday between March and May. The Wales Under 21 international also had a11 game spell at Peterborough between March and May 2014 where he scored his first and so far only goal of his career.

Reds head coach Lee Johnson told the club’s official website:

"He's a good signing for us,"

"He's got pace, has an eye for goal and he's a very bright player.

"With Kadeem Harris going back soon, Marley Watkins out injured and Ryan Williams still recovering, Lloyd is just the type of player what we need.

"I'm looking forward to working with him over the coming months."
