Following in the footsteps of Ashley Fletcher (England Under 20’s) and Callum Connolly (England Under 19’s) winger Lloyd Isgrove has earnt a call-up to the Wales senior side.

The 23 year old has made 24 appearances for The Reds since arriving on loan from Premier League Southampton in October and Barnsley have won 13 of those.

This form has seen him rewarded with a spot in Chris Coleman’s squad for the match with Northern Ireland next Thursday and Ukraine the following Monday.

Isgrove has six caps for the Welsh Under 21 side- the last of which came in 2014 but this is his first call up to the senior side.

Football League rules state that a club can apply for their matche(s) to be postponed in the event of three or more of their players being called up for international duty. However a game cannot be postponed if they are youth loans which Fletcher and Connolly are.
