Machin replaces sacked Wadsworth at Huddersfield

Former Barnsley boss Mel Machin has taken over as caretaker manager of our relegation rivals Huddersfield Town after the sacking of another former Tyke Mick Wadsworth.

The Terriers are currently bottom of the table and in deep financial trouble.

In fact, the cash-strapped Terriers had attempted to sack Wadsworth earlier in the season but no pay-off could be agreed due to the club's financial problems, and he was reinstated.

Machin had been brought in to assist Wadsworth initially.
