Mattis Move Scuppered

Midfielder Dwayne Mattis has seen his chances of earning a permanent move to League One side Walsall ended after suffering a devastating broken leg!

Mattis fractured his fibula during Walsall's 0-0 draw with Tranmere on Friday and has now returned to Oakwell.

It is desperately disappointing for the midfielder who has struggled to adapt since moving from Bury last season and Walsall manager Richard Money had hinted at a permanent move after Walsall were unbeaten during Mattis' stay moving from bottom to 10th in the table!

Meanwhile Reds boss Simon Davey is hopeful of extending Anderson Da Silva's loan spell from Everton for a third and final month.

Anderson who is suspended for Saturday's home clash with Burnley will play the final game of his current loan spell in Monday's Sky clash at Hull but Davey told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"He has improved us as he brings a Brazilian flair with a European workrate,"

"As we are outside the transfer window, he will have to go back to Everton after 93 days, so he would return there anyway at the end of November."
