Barnsley have been dealt a massive defensive blow after full back Jay McEveley suffered suspected ruptured medial knee ligaments in the 3-0 defeat at Burnley tonight.

The 25 year old who has recently broke into the Scotland national side was taken off on a stretcher after 61 minutes at Turf Moor and looked in incredible pain.

Reds boss Mark Robins told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"Jay looks like he will be out for a while. The physio thinks he has ruptured his medial ligament and that is horrendous. We will know more tomorrow".
