Miguel Flys Home

Sometimes there are moments in life that put football and Barnsley's Championship plight into perspective. And one of those moments has occurred with the news Peruvian striker Miguel Mostto has flown home to be with his ill son.

The 30 year old who has struggled to settle in England since arriving a year ago has been granted indefinite leave by manager Simon Davey to tend to his son. In probably another twist of fate for Mostto, he was due to make his first start for the club since January in the 4-1 win over Doncaster last weekend before he was suddenly called home.

We wish Miguel's son a speedy recovery!

Davey told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"Miguel has gone back to Peru to be with his son and family. Our thoughts are with him at this time.

"He will stay there as long as needed. It is a very hard time for him and he would have started the game against Doncaster Rovers last weekend but, obviously, his family has to come before anything else".
