Despite no official statement from Sheffield United or Chris Morgan it is believed the former Barnsley defender did enquire about Iain Hume's health at half-time and full-time of Saturday's derby game at Oakwell.

Morgan's elbow on Hume in the game left the striker with a fractured skull and needing emergency surgery.

Most Reds fans have been left stunned by the silence from Brammal Lane but according to the Daily Mail Morgan has enquired about Hume's wellbeing.

www.dailymail.co.uk says:

"D'Urso is believed to have told Morgan he did not think the foul was deliberate, otherwise he would have been sent off.

Concern: Chris Morgan made several inquiries to check on the health of Hume following their clash

Sportsmail also understands the defender phoned the hospital to check on his opponent's condition, having inquired both at half-time and full-time on Saturday and been reassured by Hume and his teammate Darren Moore that the injury was not too serious."

It has also been reported that it is Sheffield United themselves who have stopped Morgan from releasing a statement.
