Moses Calls It Quits

Barnsley Premier League hero Adie Moses has called time on his 16 year playing career.

Moses came through the ranks at Oakwell, making his debut in 1993. He went on to make 181 appearances at the heart of Barnsley’s defence in seven years, scoring three goals, including playing a key role in the 1996-1997 promotion and 1997-1998 Premier League season. His most infamous moment probably came at Elland Road when he sent a bullet header from a corner into the back of the net… unfortunately it was in own net. It proved to be Leeds winner in a 2-1 Reds defeat.

Moses then made just five appearances in the Reds Play-Off campaign of 1999-2000 and 16 in 2000-2001 before being sold to West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield in December 2000 for £250,000.

He later played for Crewe, Lincoln, Mansfield and more recently Gainsborough, where he played against The Reds in a pre-season friendly this summer.

In total Adrian Moses made 420 career appearances and scored six goals.
