Dave Mulligan is set to leave Doncaster Rovers after being placed on the transfer list.
"We feel we don't want him here," said a Rovers spokesman.
"He has not been in the side and we can't keep 30 players in the squad happy.
"We have a big squad and he is surplus to requirements."
