Reds on-loan hitman Daniel Nardiello is keen to see current caretaker Andy Ritchie appointed full-time in what has become an extremely hot seat at Oakwell. Nardiello who is currently negotiating a contract at the club declared Ritchie's future will have some bearing on whether Nads stays or goes.

Ritchie has given Nardiello his chance since taking over in March after Paul Hart practically froze him out.

Nardiello told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"I would like to know if Andy Ritchie is staying at the club because I really respect him as a coach and he was a great player as well. It would be a big plus for me if Andy was to stay at Oakwell.

"That is probably one of the main things for me and if Andy stays then I would love to be here next season.

"I know Andy likes me as a player and I have been in the team; I like his way of training so I would like him to stay".

Meanwhile talks are also underway to keep Player Of The Year Chris Shuker at the club.

Andy Ritchie told the Official Site:

"We have held discussions with Chris' representatives and hopefully we can bring those to a conclusion. Talks are still on going".

Finally Jacob Burns and Bobby Hassell are set to join Paul Reid and Tom Williams on the injury list for the final game of the season at Blackpool. The Australian has a groin injury whilst Hassell hasn't featured due to illness since the 2-2 draw with Oldham on the 16th April. Ritchie admitted: "We will give Jacob a test tomorrow but it does not look good. Bobby Hassell is also doubtful for the match".
