Neville: "United fans got boisterous."

Manchester United defender Gary Neville has sparked outrage by claiming the disgraceful scenes in the North Stand at last week’s Carling Cup tie was nothing out of the ordinary!

Despite the fact that £10,000 worth of damage was done and eight staff had to barricade themselves in a store room, Neville claims things have been blown out of proportion just because it’s Manchester United.

Neville, who has made 579 appearances for the Old Trafford side in 17 years at the club, and was shown a straight red card last week for a disgraceful lunge on Adam Hammill told The Sun:

"The supposed crowd trouble at Barnsley was something out of nothing,"

"United fans got boisterous. They do. But anything that happens with us gets blown out of proportion."

Manchester United have taken full responsibility for the trouble and agreed to pay the entire costs of the repairs.
