New Faces Set For The Big Time

West Bromwich Albion may be a familar face in the Barclays Premier League next season after spending three seasons there in this century but the other two promotion places are set to be occupied by teams with only dreams of the caviar and champange world at the top.

Stoke City (outside the top flight for 23 years) took the second automatic promotion spot on the final day of the season and the same theme has continued into the Play-Offs.

On Saturday Bristol City (no top flight football for 28 years) won 2-1 at Crystal Palace (in the Premier League as recent as 2005) whilst on Sunday, Hull City (never having been in the top flight) triumped 2-0 at Watford (relegated from the Premier League last season) Whilst those results are only first leg results, it at least gives hope that teams without illustrious histories could be set to break into the Premier League.

Did I mention Barnsley have only had 1 season at the top...... ok maybe not then....
