New sponsorship deal announced for Barnsley

The Reds have announced their new shirt sponsor at Oakwell today. They are linking up with drinks company VK Vodka Kick in a deal worth a six-figure sum as part of a two-year deal.

"We are delighted to have successfully completed our negotiations and look forward to a partnership that will be fruitful and beneficial to both parties," said Reds owner Peter Doyle.

The club logo will be on Barnsley home and away shirts from the beginning of next season while VK products will also be on sale in the ground.

The drinks company are Chesterfield-based and also have sponsorship deals with Chesterfield and Mansfield.

Are they trying for a monopoly of soon to be Third Division clubs......
