Barnsley's reserve team were soundly beaten at Walsall by four goals to nil at the Bescot Stadium on Tuesday night. This comes after last season's 6-2 drubbing in the same reserve fixture last season. More bad news has filtered through that Reds striker Daniel Nardiello suffered a hamstring injury in the game which has further set back his return date.

Meanwhile Reds youngsters Thomas Harban and Ryan Laight made their Tamworth debuts last night in the 3-3 draw with Aldershot Town, who had Reds legendary left back Darren Barnard in their squad. Harban was booked after 75 minutes for dissent.

Also boss Andy Ritchie has revealed he has blocked several loan bids from lower league clubs for young defender Robert Atkinson. Tamworth apparently had their bid for Atkinson rejected as Harban and Laight moved there. Atkinson who was on loan at Conference North outfit Scarborough last season is a regular for the reserve team and has been on the bench a handful of times for the first team.

Away from the club Jacob Burns' side Wisla Krakow have been drawn in the same group as Blackburn Rovers, meaning that Burns will return to England for the first time in a Wisla shirt. Also in the group containing Krakow and Blackburn are AS Nancy, Feyenoord and FC Basel.
