20 year old Robert Rimmer has been charged with attempted murder for the stabbing of on loan midfielder Ronnie Wallwork.

Wallwork was stabbed several times in the hand, stomach and back outside Manchester's Sugar Lounge bar at around 11:30pm on Thursday 30th November.

Rimmer is due in front of Manchester Magistrates in February

Police are still appealing for any witnesses to this stabbing to contact them on 0161 856 3240 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Meanwhile Paul Hayes has been selected for the Coca Cola Championship Team of the Week after grabbing The Reds a point yesterday against West Brom with his 5th goal of the season.
