News From T'Well

It has been a rather busy day at Oakwell today with two keepers signing new deals, the departure of a Hungarian and the news of two injury concerns for the Reds game against Sunderland on Saturday.

Firstly, goalkeepers David Lucas and Kyle Letheren have both signed new deals at the club. Lucas has extended his month-to-month contract by signing on for another month. Lucas signed for Barnsley in January 2007 and made his Reds debut in the 3-0 success over Hull City.

Kyle Letheren has also signed on the dotted line making sure he will stay at Oakwell until the summer of 2008. The former Swansea keeper has been a reserve regular and also featured in Thursday night show 'Soccer Night' in "Trading Places".

Reds Northern Irish midfielder Grant McCann has been called up to play for his country in the forthcoming games against Leichtenstein and Sweden. McCann, if he plays in both games, will take his international caps number up to 14.

In injury news, it has today been revealed that midfielders Dwayne Mattis and Ritchie Jones both look set to miss Saturday's crunch game against Sunderland at Oakwell. Mattis picked up an ankle injury in the reserve game against Leeds on Tuesday and Jones is suffering from an illness. Both players have made three appearances for the club.

Hungarian trialist Aron Pall has left the club today so it won't be a trio of Hungarians at Oakwell. Pall played against Leeds Reserves on Tuesday night and Davey has decided not to offer him a contract.
